Appearance

Viola is a girl of slightly above average height with long jet-black hair, sapphire blue eyes, fair white skin and a slender yet somewhat muscular physique due to all her training. While she normally wears her hair up in a ponytail to the side, she will always opt to wear it in a bun during work to prevent it from getting in the way.

Personality

During her younger years Viola was a much more cheerful and friendly girl due to being "spoiled sweet" by her parents. However after their passing she grew to become more reticent due to depression, though she still retained her kind mannerisms. However she eventually became completely shut off from others to protect herself emotionally, becoming extremely aloof in the process.

She possesses an extremely high level of composure which she can maintain through almost anything, and changes in expression no matter how subtle are few and far between. Despite being incredibly rational and calm, there are moments where she can come to display a more aggressive side in which she maintains her composure all the way through.

It's very unlikely for her to ever succumb to blind rage, so when she commits random acts of violence she's very aware of what she's doing and it is always intentional.

Viola doesn't act unless provoked however and would much rather just keep to herself if possible. The only time she does anything when it doesn't involve her is when she sees others being treated unfairly which she has a personally distaste for from personal experience.

While people typically avoid her, she's not unapproachable and is fully capable of having a lasting conversation with others should they allow it. Though her way of thinking and brutally honest way of expressing her thoughts may serve to turn people off. But if one can look past it they can see she's not such a bad person.

History

Viola was born into a wealthy family in the Stohess district of Wall Sina. Her father was a successful doctor who eventually grew to own his own hospital while her mother was primarily a stay at home mother who picked up being a seamstress as a hobby.

She was raised in a loving, though somewhat dysfunctional household with parents who doted upon her constantly. However her parents could never truly get along due to both wanting to raise her differently.

Her mother, Cecilia, believed in trusting others and giving everyone a fair chance and always being kind to people even when they make mistakes which father believed to be naive. Her father, Richard, believed that most people were motivated by self-interest and was distrusting of humanity as a whole, which Cecilia believed to be far too critical.

This led to them constantly fighting and slowly turning their relationship into a more abusive one simply because they couldn't agree on how to raise their only child. As the years went on their standing with each other continued to grow worse until one day her father went just a bit too far and in blind rage killed her mother on accident. By the time he had realized what he had done it was too late.

Though he was quick to try and dispose of the body, he was unaware that Viola had been watching the entire time in hiding. When the next day arrived and Viola questioned him about the absence of her mother, he said that she had left and wouldn't be returning. Though he technically didn't lie, he didn't tell her the full truth. Instead of asking for more information she simply accepted his claim and continued to live a somewhat normal life with him to prevent giving him any unnecessary stress.

Never vocalizing how she knew the truth, she had grown a bit distant from her father even though she still loved him dearly. Over the course of the next few years Viola noticed her father spiraling further into depression, likely due to the remorse and guilt of killing his own wife and leaving Viola without a mother.

Despite doing everything she could to support him she couldn't prevent his eventual suicide. All he left was a note detailing what he had done, how he was sorry, and that he loved her and wished for her to be strong despite all that's happened.

With both her parents gone Viola was forced to move in with her grandparents. By this point in her life she had become very reserved due to dealing with depression. Her quiet and almost timid nature led to her being the popular choice for local bullies at school which resulted in her adopting her father's cynical outlook on life and becoming extremely aloof and distrusting of others.

Though with this change came inner turmoil. Having promised her mother that she would do her best to remain positive only to switch to her father's more negative outlook felt like a betrayal of her word -- but she had also promised her father she would remain strong no matter the cost.

Unsure on how to honor both of their requests she became at odds with herself: yearning for change yet rejecting it in fear of compromising herself. Her reluctance to trust others made it difficult for her to advance as a person, but she wanted to break away from her habits.

Viola felt she would never attain the enlightenment she desired remaining in her comfort zone so decided to join the military to broaden horizons. By throwing herself into a morbid career filled with pain and suffering, she hopes to find the good in others as they fight for a cause greater than themselves. By finding the beauty hidden within the depths of despair, she wishes to find the answer that will help her become a person she can be proud of.

Omni-Directional Mobility Gear

Viola has demonstrated exemplary skill with omni-directional mobility gear, being the best in her graduating class. Though utilization of the equipment can put a major strain on the human body, Viola's natural endurance made it rather easy for her to become proficient. Her technique in being able to manipulate changes in direction while advancing towards a target is said to be almost flawless due to her always being very aware of her surroundings and how to make efficient use of them.

Intelligence

Viola's intellect is the basis for most actions she takes. She's quick to analyze everything and everyone around her before acting and almost never acts on gut-feelings or emotion. Her quick-wittedness and composure help her make the best decisions regardless of the situation. It seems she's never without some a plan of some sort when things go south, but that's because her pessimistic outlook on things results in her always being very prepared for most terrible outcomes.

Martial Arts

Something she had to eventually pick up when she began to deal with her bullies in a more "active" manner. She's quite knowledgeable about the human body and uses the information she knows to get the advantage on her opponents. Her skill in hand-to-hand combat grew upon receiving formal military training and while her physical strength isn't anything extraordinary, she's still reasonably strong and makes up for most of her weaknesses by utilizing her wits and above average endurance.

Her fighting style revolves around attacking an enemy's skeletal system (the core frame of their body). When the bone structure of the opponent is compromised, they lose the ability to use their body properly, and the ability to breathe and think properly due to the high degree of pain caused by each attack.

To accomplish these strikes, precise weak points are targeted, sometimes with the thumbs or fingers; therefore, the strikes themselves do not damage the skeleton, but rather manipulate it into a position of weakness. This can be done with both hard striking techniques and grappling techniques, such as throws, joint locks and so forth.
